This post illustrates one of your traits I've enjoyed - tactfully addressing an issue without pointing fingers and causing drama. Well done, N! Math and Punctuation have much in common, as does capitalization, as illustrated in the following sentence: Go help your uncle Jack off the elephant.  oy!While I'm finding much to reacquaint myself with upon returning, the thoughts/feelings in blogland regarding this site and its marketing remain a contentious issue. I concur with those here, change for better sitewise would go far in generating paying clientele. I actually just completed the requirements for the little gold ball...I'm not holding my breath that I'll see the benefits. Don't sell yourself short, N! Sometimes twice the fun is exactly what is required to equal fun!  Did I mention diversion could also be a good thing?   BTW: Know it's an older post, I wanted to add my 2cents... or pence... overkill... yes, somethings don't change  I do appreciate the punctuation and it's importance - poor old uncle Jack could be still stuck on a rampaging elephant in must - no the image is too bed - better not go there! I do hope the site brings you as much joy and pleasure and friendships that you deserve. I look forward to you maybe posting - you are still on my watched list! But whatever you choose to do, I just hope that it's enjoyable, stimulating and exciting and keeps you coming back!

I do agree upon contentment - it is what keeps me going sometimes... of course one can have dreams and desires and ambitions, but one should never be driven by them, but rather think of them as a bonus if ever realised!

It's when there are no brackets that the problem arises... and to make matters worse - depending upon the calculator you get different answers. I just watch the expression of dismay when I hand over a note and reach into my pocket rooting through spare change..... although one guy was quick to try to take all the change until I told him I need some for the tram ticket - and rest assured I am sure that I am sure that you would out do any combination of 24 year olds... am sure!!!

This site really loves to send out emails hotlist folks without your permission. If you signed up for icebreakers that is what you get for your free membership. Why I discontinue it for that reason when I saw an email I didn't send to a guy down in WA. I said WTF... then realize how they get the guys to pay for a membership using us. Now onto the 24 years old girls who hot listed you. I would say your hot but this me saying it not the 24 year. I would guess it is a computer generated program that is doing this.  your still hot in my books! I don't believe very much about profiles until I get to know the person a little bit better on the site. I have made some awesome friends including blog world that I do treasure. Very pleased always to hear from them too. As for the site they have a long way to go to make it a good site! It is us who stick around and keep them honest. Lovely to see you again and good luck with your renos on the home. Thank you for the compliment, I blush with embarrassment and can feel my ears burn, but thank you. You know I do appreciate the friendships that I have and have made here, it's funny thinking back about how a casual blog or comment can be the start of something. Profiles are only a guide, a starting point, when the covers are removed we find real, interesting and down to earth people behind them mostly, the rest are not worth worrying about. It is always a pleasure to see you on my blog and I love hopping over to visit yours and catch up.

I have a theory that as we grow older times passes faster... and that we have less time overall for anything. Now I might take on Einstein and relativity, see I remember when waiting for a bus for 5 minutes seemed like ages, and to walk an extra mile was infinity. Yet the summer days were very long and sunny - if we could slow down time and get off the merry-go-round things would be a whole lot better. I think i will have to practice some of that, cause grand-dads are supposed to have all the time in the world - I hope I have!

Oh it's not the Sistine Chapel, but I did find two plaster angel that I could put up and paint them. Years ago I made the mistake of buying patterned covings... and spent several days painting the pattern carefully (not that anyone actually noticed but me). You know I do find it interesting that you consider people's history so interesting, I know it has shaped the person I am today and know me means knowing somethings about the things that made me, but there are others who just do not want to know or care, I wonder if these are shallow people who end up understanding no one in the end, maybe not even themselves. Am not talking about living in the past please understand but the past has influences that can be seen today. I suppose I set up my profile when I had a very different point of view, but then I was in a very different position back then. Reviewing it is on my agenda, but a list of "prefer not to say" will not be the outcome. I better peel my layers back like an onion, or should I leave a lot to be discovered!

This site has provided just what I was seeking at the time I was seeking it. Like all things in my life, I take from it what I want and leave the rest. When I first joined it was for pure sexual pleasure...got it. Then I found blogging and met many wonderful people for much more important things than just sex. Then I met my husband here and we have had a wonderful open minded life together in a monogamous fashion. We don't play with others. We do enjoy others minds though. This site, like life, is what you make of it. It is great to hear of a complete success story in so many ways, and I for one, am so happy that you found blogging stayed, I always enjoy a visit to your blog, so natural and so real and so down to earth. This site, like the friendships, are what we make it.

My wild child has commented on a few of these Maths problems that are doing the rounds on the Facey place just now. I doubt she will comment again in a hurry as I ticked her off about her lack of Maths knowledge and told her not to help the kids with their homework any more!!! As far as the young men are concerned on the site....well apart from possibly killing me too....I seriously doubt that two twenty four year old men would have the skills in bed that I require lol! Profiles??? They can be an indication of the person but I like to take my time in getting to know someone before I believe too much. I too have made a lot of friends on the site from all over the world. Good luck with the decorating....and a house full of young ones at the baby shower. I'll do my best to have a sexy week lol!!!  I have no idea of the skills of twenty four your old men these days, but I think back to when I was that age and realise how little I really knew back then of what should be happening in the bedroom. I do agree that profiles are a starting point, like a holiday brochure or tour guide map, always to be taken with a grain of salt, even if they are 100% cause profiles are mostly about the opinion people have of them selves. But, just like the tour guide, there are always gems of people waiting to be found. Looking back when I think about the task I undertook I think I should have said "I think I need a bigger paint brush!"...lol!

Yes, there is little doubt that they have failed to capture the essence of the blogging and promote it. It is the blogging that makes this place so different from all those places with profiles and no way of communicating. Maybe there will be a revolution, or an awakening and someone will realise what a wonderful community has developed here.

Excellent post McGherkin!! I rarely use a calculator if my mental arithmetic can do it for me, but sometimes there's no choice. However, as a perennial worrier, check and double check is what gives me comfort. The young real fake lesbian couples I find amusing. Presumably some sort of bot routine creates them? As for the site's marketing techniques, well, I've always read them and kinda laughed, though I expect many people really do believe they will get laid, guaranteed. For example, I saw a guy in his mid forties ridicule a woman of the same age because she said she hadn't had sex in a while, his comment was something like 'you're on a.f.f and you're not getting any, wahahaha!' or something like that. Aye, it's the misguided few who often spoil it for the rest of us. I do agree that some people think that the guarantee is real, and not just another advertising scan like getting rid of gray hairs or all over wonderful bronzing fake tan. It's the fact that so many are not here to get laid tonight that some people (and maybe even the site owners) do not understand - so on the surface people can get the wrong impression, but still no excuse for being rude or impolite or degrading.

I have been lied to too many times to believe a profile. If I have a good feeling (this has also let me down ), about someone, I'll chat to them and maybe agree on a meet.I have made some very dear friends from all over the world through the blogs, so it's been well worth being a member even if it's only a standard one.  Although I must confess that when I started I had no idea what I was about, but time and experience allowed me to evolve into the person I am today.

Now back to ladder climbing and painting ceiling... the problem with starting renovations and decorating tasks is the it exposes work that needs doing as well, and I have a deadline of the baby shower that one daughter is organising for the other and I have no plans to have a paint ball competition. Otherwise all is well with the world and me, mostly, just far too busy, but not complaining, except that I do not have enough time to do everything.
