No just me being silly.. suppose... and I suppose chew is not silent...lol! But you have Irish registrations spot on but the system was designed before the first World War and Ireland was divided so the registrations were in all Ireland alphabetical order

Antrim = IA
Armagh = IB
Carlow = IC
Cavan = ID
Clare = IE
Cork = IF
...
Down = IJ
Dublin = IK
Fermanagh = IL
...
Some letters were reserved and the letter Z added to any county as required... so ZE, ZA, Ze were for Dublin, but ZX went to Kerry and at that point there was total turmoil.. but they kept the system going in Northern Ireland, while south of the border the letter ZZ were reserved normally for diplomatic vehicles and you just had to learn where the rest were from.
