snake on the loose!
snake on the loose! I have a female red tailed boa constrictor who is very gentle and good natured as far as reptiles go. It doesnt bite and it loves to curl up arround a warm body but not so tightly that it chokes or hurts you. It has this really strange habit of sticking its tounge in your ear or on your lips which tickles but is annoying. She loves to come out of the cage and hunt for mice but you have to keep a hand on her or she gets into places difficult to get her out of. I have allready taken apart my sofa and the console of my car becouse she wouldnt let go and come out. The car story is interesting becouse we put her in the car hoping she could help us catch a stray mouse that got out of the pet store container on the way home. It was areally bad idea that required me to take apart the car to remove her while my held the rest of her. She is now about 5 feet long, and 2-3 inches in diameter. She is quite capable of eating a small rabbit. She is so strong that she can stand errect for at least two feet. Surprise surprise she was able to pull the metal mesh on the top of the cage away from the metal frame that sandwiched the mesh in place. Soooo now I have a free roaming iguana and a free roaming boa constrictor. I hope it doesnt hang out on top of my clothers like the iguana sometimes does. It scares me every time it happens. Any ideas on how to catch it? |

The best therpy is to first touch rubber snakes and then move on to the skin and finally to the real thing. I have a snake you can practice handeling hehehehe. Apologies to you my dear I just couldnt resist.

My cousin lost her boa constrictor in the house (it was undergoing remodeling at the time) and it was gone for about 5 months. One night "wilma" decided to hang from the rafters over the boy's beds (freaked them out when they woke up at midnight), but that's how we got Wilma back. Other than keeping a sharp eye peeled, or having something edible that she likes available, it's going to be hard to figure out where she is hiding. Once you find her, it won't be any big deal to pick her up. The big trick is in finding her / it in the first place. Good luck, 2Shy
