I took my to the bus station to go back to college satuarday morning. She insisted that I buy the ticket friday night so she would have a reserved seet. I didn't think that it worked that way but anything to calm her down. (Amazingly it's now cheaper to take the 2 hour express bus one way that it is to drive.) So I get up and she's tring to stuff all the stuff she recieved for christmas into a body bag sized duffel bag. Mind you that I cant pick it up myself or ill tear open my reciend incisions. I remind her of this several times. We finally make it to the bus station and some panhandler starts giving me crap about not carying her bag. Finally he says you must be one of those independent types that makes women carry their own bags. If you know me, you know that I do try to mind my manners and be as fine a gentleman as I can be. Well that stung right to the core. He got real quiet for a second when I stopped, turned, and glared at him. Finally I broke the silence and said I cant lift the bag becouse I had surgery two weeks ago. I wanted to follow it up with a few colorful remarks to brighten my day but my manners stilled my tounge. Then he's asking my do you want me to take that for you? No she said I'm fine. He asked her about 4 more times at which time that glare appeared in her eyes and he decided to come back to me. (She has been known to throw heavy wooden chairs across the room when angered) Then he asks for money to help him out. Sorry I said I cant spare any. Then he said But I saw that you were going to put money in the meter for parking. And my reply and I need it too. What a jerk! Finally we get into the station and he leaves us alone. Then we stand in line waiting for the ticket to be issued. They want you there an hour ahead of time but there is no one at the counter for at least 10 minutes past that time. Finally we get to the counter and they issue the ticket, and the lady said next time if you buy the ticket here and not online you can save the $15 surcharge. Either way you have to wait in line to pick up your ticket. (oh theres that look in my eye again but this time at little miss you know who) Oops sorry dad. Next she said well they wont sell the ticket if there are not enough seats on the bus. Wrong! the list of rules happens to be on a kiosk behind us. First come first serve in line unless you want to upgrade to reserved seating which they failed to mention earlier. More waiting in line. In front of me is a petite young lady with a self written slogan pinned to her sweatshirt. First I want to say that I believe strongly in the freedom of expression especially when you are young and can do as you please. (It doesnt fly so well with management when you have a job) But with her round little face and her nose ring with balls on the ends she reminded me of a cartoon of a pig. I'm sure it looks good on some people but definately not her unless of course she was dating farmers. ( deliverence quote " squeel like a piggy" type farmers) The line was long and my was oh so lucky to get on the bus, third to last to board. Wow there are a lot of people going to Toleodo on a Saturday morning. I'll bet half the line had to wait for the next bus.
