To cyber sex, or not to cyber sex.... That is the question???
Ok, I haven't blogged in awhile and I was reading down my list of recent posts and I noticed it has been entirely too long since I've been bad sooooo. I thought I might expand my repertoire a little.
For everyone around here who knows me and chats a lot with me, I like to flirt and have fun. I love twisting words. And, I love to smile and be a little bit on the suggestive side. It's all fun and in good taste, but there is a blurry line that doesn't often get crossed. Very often I flirt with that line and I like to push things, but I almost never go that extra bit. By which I mean I almost never let it escalate to cyber sex or things of the like. It's a very conscious choice.
I guess if you have talked to me you know I like to push and I also like to tease. I used to be a lot more tight about it since I was always worried about feelings or what people were thinking in response. I guess that's cause I did have a relationship once that was with a girl I met online and it was anything but normal. So, I've been more cautious with my online relationships whether they be friendly, playful, or other.
Cyber sex is a fairly personal thing, but at the same time it's kind of impersonal. You don't ever have to see the person. You never have to even talk to the other person because it's not hard to avoid the person if you want. But, at the same time you are sharing part of you. I've never been much for taking that sort of thing lightly and I'm really a one girl guy. But I the more I think about it I have to wonder about what other people thing about it. I think I feel like it isn't the same thing as a relationship, but it is a reserved sort of thing. I'm not sure if I can or want to rationalize it. I think I can't feel exactly the same; it's more of a practical sort of thing. You can't treat it exactly the same as sex because of the kinds of problems involved with having a relationship with someone far away. Fuck it.... I have no idea, lol. I wonder if I'm too serious and cerebral about all things involving relationships and sexuality in general anyways. 
So I guess my conclusion is: don't take it lightly, but it's not the same thing as sex? I have no idea exactly, I was kind of wandering through the idea as I wrote if you couldn't tell. So.....
How often do you have cyber sex? Do you always get off or is it more about talking and getting excited? Are you your normal sexual self or are you more conservative or liberal since you don't actually have to see the person? And, does it mean the same to you as sex in person?
I'd love to hear other people's opinions, especially here where I think it happens a lot more often and openly.
Or...I might just be full of shit

Tiger, I write for the sheer enjoyment of doing it.
My favorite editor is forever telling me that I should be asking myself if what I am writing is commercially viable and my response is "I don't care if it is or not... I don't write for the readers but rather for me!" Since I write for ME rather than for the odd bit of extra change that it puts in my pocket I don't have to worry about anything other than making sure that the story is well constructed and enjoyable to read. Tends to frustrate the editorial folks but I like keeping them on their toes.

I'm glad your writing makes you happy and that you can reach others on whatever too. All of the great people in history push the boundaries of what is good, what is "now", and what is "right." Elyria, I think that may be the first time I've ever heard someone say that. I am both surprised and impressed. Not many people would write just anything for reasons other than some form of gratification. The way you say it, it seems like you just want to write and letting others read it is better than deleting it? That's an odd quality if I read you right.
Myself, I love sharing, but I love the interplay that goes back and forth. I never use others just for their responses and I never do it for self gratification either. I like connections and I like to be part of life and living. If I should have some fun along the way that is just nice . I take all my relationships seriously though no matter what they are.
Unfortunately, I'm not as big as reading such stories though. Like I said earlier, it only means something to me if it's personal on some level. I have a feeling that you are good at it though? |

I tried it a couple of times years ago and invariably ended up with a severe case of the giggles so I don't engage in it at all.

It's been a long time since I've been close to anyone in that way short of what I described above. I've made lots of friends, but it's been more than just a little while since I've had any sort of romance or real closeness with anyone. It's had me thinking a lot about what it and other closeness means to me, how close I hold myself to my vest in that way, and if that is something I'm happy about. (I tend to reevaluate lots of things as life happens.)

TIGER... lol...I have never had cyber sex...and as you know my blog is never sexual or very low toned...it is too far out of my comfort zone...I am much more a "doer" than a "talker"...
