The SUBJECT of interest


I'm Puzzled. Does the subject of an email message matter. I know that in school, email, etc. you learn to write something quick and to the point. Does that work the same way here. I always feel kinda stupid writing messages here. Most people here use their screen names until you know them for a bit. So, when you write a message with "Hey (screen name)" it ends up sounding like a bad pick-up line on Affairlook.

I really am not sure what to write other than "hey." Mostly I am left blank. After I write an original message I am always left wondering, "Is it supposed to be catchy and original and make me stand out or............. what?" So, I thought I'd ask others what sorts of interesting tag lines they get on messages, or what sorts they write when meeting new people on here?
Or...I might just be full of shit
