My Mail Is Suspended? What? Yesterday, I discovered no one had been getting any mail from me for the past day or two. So, off to call Customer Service. I'm told that obviously I've been sending contact information. He sees I've used the Y word in an email, but not in terms of the instant messenger, but in terms of a person who is an idiot. He'll release my account. And extend my membership for my troubles. OK, so I went back and resent all the mail, copying and pasting all the way, as we don't have the ability to just hit forward here. It would be nice if we did, as we could have an easier time laughing at idiot mail with each other, instead of copying and pasting. Then I took a peek at everyone's profiles. It's saying I still haven't sent them any damned mail! I went into chat. I sent a few test emails to chatters. They didn't get them. A roomie sends me mail. All he gets is my auto-response, not my reply. Back to the phone... After waiting on hold for a good long time, as they had an abnormally high call volume, (always a sign something has gone wrong with the latest "upgrades",) I got the same guy. He looks deeper this time. "Oh, I see you have an email to [blog kelli4u2dew] that was flagged and not delivered. Kelli? The last time I wrote to her was in response to an article she sent me and that was so long ago, it's not even in my email history anymore. Not to mention, people obviously got mail from me after that. So he tries again. Oh, he found the problem! I happened to mention in an email that a number of men treat this site as if it's supposed to be an service. So, they pulled my mail privileges, without telling me. Or telling me I was currently being punished, until my account was reviewed. Nice. So, he released my mail. But this isn't the first time I've had problems with the email here. Seriously, if any of you have been expecting email from me that hasn't arrived, let me know. It took one of you at least two tries to send me something I finally got last night. Iggy problems, mail problems, blog problems... I don't think my, "I love this site..." mantra is working anymore. I can get the two live chickens downtown, but does anyone have a goat for me to sacrifice?  |

I am sorry about your troubles. This place doesnt play fair. Some people get treated differently. Right or wrong has nothing to do with anything. I have been reading blogs and magazine articles all over the site in the last few days that are more critical than what you have written in that e mail. Steve

FUCKERS. I was only alerted a couple days ago that TPTB saw fit to filter my email (I specifically did NOT have one on), and within a two hour gap, I suddenly went from having no email, to having 12 in my filter box dating back over a month. I was also alerted the same day by 5 people.....5 people!!!!, that they had suddenly received email from me dating back, also up to a month ago. Apparently, a month ago, I pissed someone off.

that's terrible, and it doesn't make sense. They let you put your IM in your profile and that usually is someone's email most times Margo

Lessee, this site makes a ton of money. You'd think they'd fix the problems on here, but, nope, not on the agenda. Then, they got paranoid with all the bullshit, and decided to flag everything. Some things I can see, but they take it too far. This site has changed, and not for the better. $20 says this post will be denied. Come into my realm! You aren't afraid...are you?

I think it was more site wide than all that, actually -- all the sudden I got an email showing new, dated Oct 2nd! I go in and it will sometimes show a new email or two but when I get in the top spots are those emails I've already read. Oh, and I haven't paid for the priviledge or whatever of the new ball (as Lofty says I already have two, but that's another subject) -- sometimes affiliate sites give points redeemable for upgrades or tshirts...and I needed 4 times the points for the shirt!

Obviously, they use some kind of filtering software that looks for particular words or patterns. That doesn't explain why (correct me if I'm wrong, ladies) men send email addresses and phone numbers in initial contact emails with regularity. I see phone numbers posted as headlines in profiles. The one that really gets me is that they've removed the ability to report emails for abuse from standard members. There are a lot of other features that have been removed from silver members (in addition to those new features added only for gold members). I haven't been gold lately, but do you still get a link to a commenter's blog under their pic? That disappeared for standard and silver members awhile ago. Of course, the overall quality of programming and system support here is abominable. I sent our gracious host a resume last summer, offering to institute industry standard quality control, but never got an answer. Have you been plagued with the infamous Affairlook BUGS????? It is amazing how a site that has the membership that this site does can have so many f-ing BUGS!!! I love the classic response that "our tech dept." is working on the problem and should have it resolved soon...one week, two weeks...it is truly amazing...What a damned clusterfuck this site can be!!!!!! You would think this site would use updated software to keep the site BUG Free, worry-free...isn't it amazing!!!!
