Blogging 101. Answering A Negative With A Positive

Sometimes after writing a post someone will enter your blog and leave a negative or snarky comment. What do you do when this happens?

Last night, I told a blogger that his post caused me to throw up. His response is a classic.

 Hum... I can see both sides of the fence. Knowing you as I do, of course you rock! His comeback was pretty spot on, considering you have "cook" in your name. "diet/cook"

Yes, it was different. Especially since this was the first interaction between the both of us. Not a good first impression, in retrospect.

Still, it seems a good blog topic.

 It depends what sort of comment it is....if someone is just being a smartass they will get a sarcastic reply....if they are attacking me or someone else on my blog....God help them for I will tear them to shreds.

The only comments ever deleted in The Venting Blog are those that were double posted, or disappeared when their authors closed their accounts. (And sometimes even those reappear. There's strange things going on in my basement).

Nor have I seen fit to ban a blogger. At least not yet.

Aw. And I was of a mind that America was the land of second chances.

While ignoring many, I have never banned a blogger from posting in The Venting Blog.

This is my eleventh year of blogging here, and I have seen quite a bit of negative stuff. Still I have managed quite well without resorting to banning.

More than a few bloggers who came in here hating on me have left as friends. Others got tired of being ignored, or got bored, or whatever... they're gone. But they can still come back and post here if they wish.

As yet, none have. (At least under a handle I recognize).
