A Madman Loose In The Basements of BlogLand The only way to become the leading BLOG HISTORIAN on the site is to read as many old posts and blogs as possible. Delving ever deeper into dusty, cobwebby, basements where no man goes. It's lonely down there and the walls can close in on you. It plays on your mind. Phantoms and ghosts flit about. Archives of the minds of bloggers both familiar and strange appear. Crackling like old parchment unrolled after untold years, forgotten voices are remembered once again. Interestingly, many of the topics found are still being widely discussed throughout the Land of Blog. My trusty flashlight has brought light once again to images hovering above an endless array of basement doors. Flickering briefly in the roaming brightness I see the faces, poses, and title pix of posts both interesting and mundane. One reason that the study of Blog Archeology is not among the leading disciplines in BlogLand University's College of Arts and Sciences, concerns the danger encountered deep in the abyss of blog basements. Last week, while trying to retrace my steps after my deepest plunge yet, my not-so-trusty flashlight failed. I was left in the pitch black dark, cold and shivering. Shaking and tapping on my flashlight gave me brief glimpses of the long dim hallways. Nearly blind, I stumbled and clawed my way out, pausing only to eat the waxy remnants of the egg salad sandwich I had in my pocket. I'm not really sure, time cannot be counted down there, but I think it took me almost week to escape. Something happened to me during that terrifying journey. Something I cannot seem to put my finger on. As I closed in on the last staircase the light of day beckoned from the crack under the door. Yet try as I may I could not reach it. I felt as Tantalus, with the stolen ambrosia of forgotten posts under my arm, reaching for the branches of freedom hanging just out of my grasp. I cracked. My mind collapsed upon itself as the personalities within struggled for control of my consciousness, vying to take over my waking mind and spring from the dark recesses of my inner fears into the light of day. I do not know who I am now. I could be several people, but I only seem to have ID for one. Perhaps that is who I am but I cannot be sure. I seem to recall glimpses of myself committing horrible crimes by tinkering with history. Adding to the past a voice from the present. But a voice not my own, it being filled with sarcastic cynicism, hurled with venomous glee on the walls of Ancient Blogland like an angry armed with spray paint. Longstanding monuments of BlogLand history are now altered. Blog Keepers armed with the power of DELETE will have to be sent down into the Pits of Blog to clean up the mess. The Basements of BlogLand hold wonders, wisdom, and wit. Yet beware, if go there you dare. It's dangerous in the basement when the lights go out. blog on! |

Sometimes I wish to go blog spelunking just like you mention above only I FORGET the names of the old bloggers.  Or I remember the name but can't get the spelling quite right. And I'll do tests with names by making blog links like this Bardicman Sometimes I strike old gold by doing that. And other times I come up empty handed.  But it's still always a fun adventure to try.I had actually completely forgotten the handle of [blog sexyfitwoman] until I saw your recent Classic Comments 15 post!  insert exploding bomb image here

Sometimes I wish to go blog spelunking just like you mention above only I FORGET the names of the old bloggers. Or I remember the name but can't get the spelling quite right. And I'll do tests with names by making blog links like this Bardicman Sometimes I strike old gold by doing that. And other times I come up empty handed. She was a deserved number one for a year or two. I was just in her basement a few days ago goofing around. lol. blog on!

The depths of blogland history are vast. Too vast for me I'm afraid. But I'm glad to know they're there. Just recently tons of old "watched posts" reappeared. (To blogs that are closed, but still accessible.) I always knew they were still there. So now I have a starting point for my travels back in time. .... When I'm ready to go there.

While I have enjoyed some good times wandering around in the basement and reading blogs written by bloggers I never knew...this facility to delve into the past is one of the reasons I have deleted every post on my old blog and regularly have a clear out on my current blog. Of course the fact that we can now see the comments of people who have left the site makes wandering through the archives so much easier....maybe when I finally leave I shall simply turn off my profile and not delete it and then my comments on other blogs will vanish too!  ~~Anais Nin~~

I sometimes regret deleting my first blog it held a lot of good and bad memories for me but a fellow blogger friend of mine gave me a link and somehow I got to read through my old stuff and was almost in tears. Good to see you still blogging Kieth. Blog on. Please, just call me diggy.

Good to see you still blogging Kieth. Blog on. Your stuff was gritty, as I recall. Intensely personal. It was like watching you grow, as I read along. Unfortunate that it is gone. I have rarely opined on my offline life in The Venting Blog. And that was early, before I changed my style.(all of which can of course be found in the deepest levels of my basement. ).BlogLand is my playground, where the regular world is elsewhere and unimportant. Hey, isn't it cool that standards get to use the where I'm quoted feature these days? Yippee! That was way overdue if fostering blogging was ever important to the managers of this operation. It's great to have you back in The Venting Blog once more! blog on!

dunno, with 15 personalities at last count and almost as many 'lost' profiles due to the troll wars and all, not sure can get to or even find most of my older ones, tho did have one that Wild had sent me the link to once...these days enough issues keeping up with what's going on, since not able to come in as much as used to, tho of course is awfully nice to see you back blogging keithers
