Kidnapped, Stripped, and Left On a Rock

That's pretty much what happened to me last weekend when my friend grabbed me, and carried me off to the mountains for an impromptu camping trip in Linville Gorge, North Carolina.

LMAO! Some would say it was way PAST bloody time considering the history passed down in this blog over the years.

Thank you for bearing with me so far, papy darling. (You're very precious to me, don't ya know!)

Nothing burned, not even dinner!

Check that. I am still smarting from the sunburn I received the day that pic was taken.

Thank you for your concern, old friend!

Aw, folks aren't really like that in these parts. The people of these hills are as good and true as any I have met.

They do have a rather unique way of speaking I must say. Constantly using metaphors. One fellow, who helped point us on our way, offered that we'd best beware a certain part of the road ahead which was "bumpier than a corncob". He was right too!

I wish I could remember the other half dozen colloquialisms he threw in for good measure.

Bruiser has not been very happy having to wear his hat. He can't feel the sun's heat like he's used to, wearing that infernal thing.

And to think that all this time I would have taken a road trip to NC. As long as there at least one day of was bicycling involved.

Well, jayR my friend, my next expedition is north to Virginia where I'm gonna bicycle the Creeper Trail.

Actually, I should probably note that I am taking a shuttle to the top of the trail head, so's I can gently coast downhill for the next twenty or so miles.
