Oh! I cannot bear anymore of this. Blogging has lost its lustre. Posting has always been an exercise in near futility, and now BlogLanders are sniping at each other again. Why, if I twist things around just right, it appears that my own family is being attacked. It is too much to take. I shall commit blogicide tonight when the moon rises.

Later that night, just before moonrise George writes his goodbye comments and prepares to delete his posts. Every last one of them...

Well, I've been to all the pertinent posts and left my final word. Now to delete these posts. Hmm, should I start with my very first post and work up? Or should I start with my most recent one and work back? Jeeze, there sure are a lot of em. I have quite a history here.

Suddenly George senses another prescence in the room. He looks around and POOF! there stands Clarence, the Angel.

Hey! What're you doing here? And why are you upside down? And how do I instinctively know you are an angel anyway?

Hahahahahahhahaha! Which question would you like me to answer first, my little blogger? Nevermind, I will answer in order. I'm here to do good (it's what angels do), I'm upside down because because I have not yet earned my wings (I'm not a full-fledged angel yet), and this is sorta like a dream sequence, so some things just happen without an explanation.

Well, you picked a fine time to appear. I was just about to commit blogicide and delete my blog. (Should I start at the beginning or at the end?)

Why do you wish to commit blogicide? Haven't you been happy in BlogLand? Aren't there wonderful blogs to read, and haven't you made many friends? Some of them even look to you for guidance and inspiration. (start at the beginning).

I am committing blogicide because my family was personally attacked in a blog. I cannot post here again. My pride and outrage prevents me. I must take a stand and prove a point. I will not continue to associate myself with bloggers who I disagree with.

So, your answer to this "attack" is kill your blog? This blog in which you have poured your soul? This blog which inspired so many through the honest emotions displayed therein? This blog in which you played so well, had so many laughs, and formed relationships with so many bloggers? (Not to mention the fact that your family was never mentioned or attacked until you brought it up).

Ouch! You didn't have to put it like that. I just wish I had never even started the dang thing.

Ah! A wish! Angels are good with wishes. Hold on to your hat George. We are going to visit BlogLand. A BlogLand that never knew George.

Suddenly, George and Clarence find themselves transported to the streets of BlogLand. (Insert harp chords here...)

Well, here we are. Shall we take a stroll? There's ol expats blog. Let's go see what is going on in there.

Hey! This ain't expats blog. It can't be. He would never post pix like this. What are all these flowers? Where are the naked Asians? And look at these posts. Gardening and weather? Jeesh.

Expat has never posted a pic of a naked Asian in this blog. In fact, he has never even mentioned sex in it. You see, he never became a perv. Without you to inspire him, he has only posted on horticulture.

Oh! How boring. Let's get outta here. Poor ol expat's blog is so uninteresting that I can't stand reading another word. Let's go over to keithcancook's place. He usually has something going on.

Sure, if I can find it. He rarely posts anything at all. He is mostly a commenter.

Yeah right! Are you kidding? He is The PUBLISHER of the TATTLER. He always has something going on in that old rag.

Um, there is no TATTLER George. Nor is there a PUBLISHER. Oh, he thought about it briefly, but needed another blogger to help him set it up. No one was there to step forward. Remember, you never have blogged in BlogLand. You never were there to assist him. He just lurches around since no one showed up to help him focus his creativity.

Oh! I can't bear to look at it. Besides, there's nothing to look at anyway. Why he hasn't posted all month!

All over BlogLand you will find much the same thing. You see, you had many dear friends here who needed you. Their blogs are other than they would have been because the interaction you provided never happened. BlogLand can become a dreary place when it's citizens get angry and leave.

Oh sure, Clarence. There are tens of thousands of blogs already, with more coming in everyday. There's no way a little blog like mine matters in the face of those numbers.

Yes, that is true. But in the little corner that you called BlogLand, you did matter. Now you have let pride and indignation rule you. When you delete your blog, you will not of course be able to erase history. It will remain in the hearts and basements of BlogLanders. BlogLanders who will keep on blogging, irregardless of who comes and goes.

Hmm, perhaps I am being a bit hasty with this blogicide notion in my noggin. I don't think that I will delete anything tonight. Besides the moon has set.

Hallelujah! That is just what I needed to hear. My mission here is complete.

POOF! Clarence disappears from the scene.

Hey, what's that ringing noise? I hear bells...

THE END

LOL, sorry about that topsy turvy effect. It was purely intentional.

It is so nice to see some of the PECCARETTES in The Venting Blog again PrincessKarma! The PECCARYS are quite upset with the news that came out of Panama recently. Shall we come down there and ease your pain?

Aww bard , the acting wasn't that bad was it?

humboldthonni , I have a lot of respect for you. Thank you for your comment.

That is what I was thinking, Lil. I think that George's blogging experience was overall a positive one. In fact, I'm certain of it.

I hear you FreeLove . Blogicide makes sense in some ways. Like if you no longer want to be associated with an adult web site, and fear that folks in the real world may pass judgements on you for it. In other ways, it seems like a repudiation of relationships formed over the course of blogging. A denial of history.

There are many who have left blogging long ago, but their blogs are still there to read. As a "deep blog diver" I read old posts quite often and occasionally visit the old blogs of non-active members with whom I have blogged. I had a very close blogging relationship with one blogger recently. Our blogs were interconnected and when the connections were severed, the history of my own blog seemed somewhat lessened. Jeeze, I am way too sentimental. Must be my age.

Do ya really think ol Frank would have been proud, toothy? I heard a rustling sound as I composed this screenplay, and I swear it was Frank turning over in his grave!

Keith, don't you go anywhere...ever! I would be crushed as so many others here. We all go through hard times here, much in life...and yet we cant stop in life...we go on and on and on...

Lets have fun and let those whom muck it up muck it out amongst themselves...I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing...did you say something??

Hullo luke! I cannot take any credit for the quality of my ol pal expats pervishness. In fact, I see myself as more of a counterbalance to him!

I am very fond of you too sj, my dear. Your writing is awesome and thought provoking.

TopFisher, I promise to change the subject in my next post... LMAO! PS: I never marinate beef loins...

Hello, onelittlesecret. It is nice to see you!

Thank you silkysmoothlegs! I'm still lovin' the imagery of your screenname! mmmmm, yummy!

Hullo there, interested. I loved your latest poetry post dude. I'm glad you enjoyed my little play!

Welcome to The Venting Blog HotLilSouth(bend)Angel! Or should I call you Belle? I will leave the history behind if you will tell me what you know of Nawth Carolina homecomings...

Bella, I will never willingly leave BlogLand. I never even considered the idea. I probably shouldn't have posted on this, as the dust has settled. Although I was actually waiting for it to settle before I published it. It was a subject too close to me to ignore. I really miss my CHIEF.

The Blogs will go on, and I am with y'all. Count me in on having future fun, as this episode is now just as HotLilSouthAngel has stated - history.

Hullo my little wildflower! You flirt like no other and I love ya for it! I'm glad you enjoyed the play too...
