I mean as far as opera singers go Jussi Bjoerling springs to mind immediately as one of the greatest tenors of the prvious century. The list is endless.....
Did you ever read Jussi Björling's biography? It was pretty interesting.....

Do you know about Jenny Lind? If not google her....

That would be interesting. I have to admit even though I am of Swedish ancestry I have always preferred the Russians for orchestral music and Italians for their operatic works.

I prefer Italian and German for operatic works.... Orchestral, I'm all over the map!

Berwald and Alfven are my favorite Swedish composers...

Ah......another silly little shit hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, and, as usual, just like all the others, no pic on the profile...not that it would be real anyway. Drunkenness the excuse of many generations...and the bane of many of the restless dead. (Sigh) You will do whatever you want, with whoever you want, but with Angel, for you it will only ever be in Fantasy-Land and even then you are, and will always be lacking the E-ticket for this ride.

Never bow to the dead, my dear. Dance with them, and love them as we all fall together into the long downward spiral….

    Don't forget Birgit Nilsson....

Franz Adolf Berwald, born 23 juli 1796 in Stockholm, dead 3 april 1868 in Stockholm, cousin to the composer and violinist Johan Fredrik Berwald, grand father to Piano Virtuoso Astrid Berwald.

Sinfonie sérieuse, Sinfonie capricieuse, Sinfonie singulière

    Berwaldhallen

is a concert hall in the Östermalm district of Stockholm, Sweden. Construction on the building began in 1976 based on a design by architects Erik Ahnborg and Sune Lindström. Since opening in 1979, Berwaldhallen has been home to the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, one of Stockholm's two major orchestras, as well as the Swedish Radio Choir.

Berwaldhallen is named after Franz Berwald one of Sweden's foremost composers of the 19th century. On the grounds of the concert hall is a sculpture of Berwald by Swedish artist Carl Eldh.

The building is sometimes casually called "the mine" (gruvan) in reference to the hall's location partially underground.

Diplomatstaden and the American embassy are located next to Berwaldhallen.
