Note: Slave in this context is a willing person who submits to a Master in BDSM activities. There are many variations to the methods, practice and roles of the slave, yet, it is a formal statement of both the slave and the Master, with rules, ethos and experience factors to differentiate a slave from anyone else in otherwise normal BDSM activity. ------- o ------- o ------- o ------- o ------- o ------- What are the qualities, the factors, the elements of a slave, and then what are the elements of perfection for a slave in the alternate/bdsm environment? I want to explore a few thoughts and ask others to add in their perspectives on any part of this topic. ------- o ------- o ------- o ------- o ------- o ------- Words like submissive, passive, service, property, pup, worthless, pup, caged, and many more are often mentioned in messages I receive. Is it a fantasy or, is it play or, is it in fact, real? Sometimes a boy describes himself as naturally submissive and will do anything, absolutely anything for his Master/Mistress, or, will do anything to please a Dom/Domme or Master/Mistress. All of those seem to be common, yet, what do they mean? When does a slave discover that he/she is a slave or is slave material? The word often missing is "experienced". Rarely on this or other sites, in profiles and in other circles does a slave say he/she is "a slave experienced at serving his/her Master/Mistress". It seems as if this is a place where submissives who desire to be a slave search for their calling. I somewhat think it's true for Masters and Doms. However, in the case of Masters or Doms, if they are seeking their calling, they are neither dom or master, they are posers and fakes. Why, because it's partly nature, partly experience, and largely an ethic - the way of thinking and believing. Far too often, boys write that they are open to anything, but offer no explanation of "anything". In fact there often seems to be no real interest in fully open chat, let alone slave/sub BDSM activities. I have to wonder why the word slave is so openly used. This site provides a real good avenue for people to explore their desires to submit to a Master/Mistress, to explore their cravings for various non-conformist activities, to find like-minded people. However, many guys I've talked with say they get little or no real discussion on here. Maybe they just haven't figured out how to get connected. However, I suspect it's the same reason they're not at a club or social event for meeting someone of like-minded interests. The web and this site are a "safe havens" for the newly initiated (or hope to be initiated) in a world they don't really yet understand. I for one, suggest that this site and other web sites should be places where information, training, learning resources could be offered. It seems that they are desperately needed. Simple things like the definitions of the words, and their context in the BDSM community would be one thing, the roles of a Dom/Domme and sub might be another, popular views on commitment and responsibilities yet another. This site offers courses, and that's a start. Certainly, I want subs and slaves to understanding the difference of being a bdsm slave, participating in bdsm activities, and seeking to learn about those. It would be an achievement to read words like responsible, experienced, dependable, obedient, honorable, trustworthy, inner nature, and a few others. I guess I'm an optimist or a dreamer - NOT. lol.
