Permission to Speak Freely

Please note, this post is in no way intended to belittle the real difficulties of having any kind of mental disability or speaking disorder............

But there are times when I wish I had Tourette's syndrome - you know, the one where you just say what you are thinking with no filter. Sometimes I think I may have it very slightly, although thankfully I have it under control.

Like today, when I was in the coffee shop and the girl serving me said "is there anything else you would like?" I was very tempted to reply, "yes please, could I have a quick feel of your really gorgeous breasts?" But without being able to prove a genuine case of Tourette's, I think it is possible I may not have got away with it.

And yesterday, confronted by a man I find I am totally unable to like, I wanted to say, "go away you horrible person, you are a man on whom I would not piss," (Dreamer likes to be grammatically, if not politically correct, ) "even in the event your trousers should catch fire."

Okay the former actions could get you arrested...the latter though could set you free. I've told many an asshole exactly what I thought of them and used the same euphemism...maybe not so politely as you but I got the message across, lol.
Guess I'm not all that politically correct after all!

You be careful or we'll have to have a whip round for bail money Dreamer.

Like Passion I have been known to say what I thought of someone in a different language, but always with a smile on my face so that they think I'm saying something nice.

I don't think it is actually illegal to ask for a fondle, but I agree it's better not to risk it!

I know what you mean, especially this weather. It is so tempting when they naively say that while sporting a lovely young ripe pair of Bristol's in front of me. But I refrain.
I don't think I can blame the weather - I am just as bad in the middle of winter.

I should point out that when I say "girl" she was at least twenty two!

That's a good plan...how do I say "please can I fondle your gorgeous breasts?" in Italian? I know how to say, "Mi disparace, sono Inglesi," so that might help smooth things over afterwards if she understood me.

Passion is on to something I think, but I am thinking of using it for the chat up rather than the insult!

Those are two different kinds of things on your mind...and speaking your mind would get you two very different results. I wonder which one would provide you with the greatest satisfaction.

I've found that when speak my mind out of irritation, that it's not always as satisfying as I'd like. But when I speak because someone turns my head, I'm glad I was able to get up the courage.

That's a very good point Kay, I like the way you are thinking.

Really? Irrespective of the situation? I'm not sure that would always work for me. I mean people might not know whether it was a real smile or not. Maybe you didn't mean it as advice....just what works for you?

Ultimately it depends on how I have read the person and whether or not I think they could handle any criticism. If I sense it would not be worth my time to talk to someone I'll just smile and be on my way

Cuz sometimes I just want to let it all out...and that just wouldn't be right according to The Golden Rule

well... politicians and such seem to be getting away with blurting out inappropriate things and apologizing 5 seconds after it has gone viral... so... maybe you'd get away with it too?

and I'm glad you've got your priorities right - it is ALWAYS more important to be grammatically correct than politically correct.

Yes, I understand. And in the case of the man I don't like, he is definitely (for me at any rate) beyond worth bothering with, which is why, like you, I don't say anything, because it is easier just not to have to deal with him.

My blog wasn't completely serious though.

Hmmmm......multiple personality disorder........

You mean saying something like "Wildfire, I really do find your mind terribly sexy. Can you please fly over to the UK and visit me some time for a long night of STOP THAT DREAMER, what were you thinking? I'm so sorry Wild, he just leaps on my brain and says whatever he is thinking sometimes, I would never presume upon our friendship just because Dreamer is feeling so horny today"

I suppose that might be fun sometimes, do you think I would get away with that?

Hiya V, great to see you. Yes, I could try it. I rather like Wildfire's idea - see my reply to her above!

I do allow grammatical lapses where strict Queen's English doesn't quite sound how I mean it to, but mostly, especially in the written word, I do like to maintain my standards, lol.

Those are some polite comments: lecherous or insulting, they were still polite. Is that an English thing?

I don't think so, although it would be nice if that was true, but I don't think it ever was really. I am usually polite I suppose, but in this case I think it was mainly just that polite insults or lechery can be funny!
