a public service message
a public service message to all inhabitants of ellada, two things: first, those pretty lights on the bottom of your car are called FOG lights, fog is myxli (bad spelling im sure). theyre very bright and are there so you can turn them on when its foggy so you can be seen. they blind people when its not foggy as they are very bright. are you with me so far??? they are not their to make your piece if shit fucking suv look extra bling! (in most countries, you know where theres been cars for more than a decade and everyone hasnt just got off their donkey its an offence to drive with them on when its not foggy because theyre dangerous to other road users!) second, and really this is the most important: STOP signs. STOP means stamata. its doesnt mean just keep going and drive into the car thats going past and quite rightly expecting you to actually fucking stop. so, seen as its obviously not in your driving lessons (is that a rousing chorus of "huh, the what, i bought my license" that i hear) here we go, i shall impart some of my hard earned knowledge; when you see a stop sign this is what you do: 1 remove foot from throttle (par to podi ap to ghazi) 2 apply foot to brake (val to podi sou sto frena) 3 stop (stamata) 4 when theres a space, you can then go (oten eparxei thesi tote boreis na xana valeis podi sou sto ghazi na pas) so, i'll apologise for my bad greek and you can all apologise for your driving standards because my daughters 3 and she knows what stop means. if you follow these simple rules there'll be less people in hospital and less people fucked because theyve now got no car. end of message |

Can you help me by letting me know where I can buy a driving license. Well 2 actually. ! for the car and 1 for the motorbike. I really cannot be bothered going through the test but I know I cannot keep driving with a non-Greek license. And good luck getting the roads sorted. It would be a great way for the government to raise the money they so need. A little police patrolling. Imagine the parking fines, the fines for talking on mobile phones and for running red lights and STOP signs. The mind boggles at the amount that could be collected through this. Good luck and remember. Driving here is bad for everyone. Try to keep a smile on your face and always expect the worse!! I have finished ranting...

I have finished ranting... as for the license, you misunderstood, you have to take the test but then irrespective of your ability you get to pay the examiner so you get your license! (come on greeks, tell me im wrong!) now you see why the driving sucks so bad! finally, thats not a rant, thats a moan, cant be a rant without dripping in venom and vitriol! better luck next time
