A Sweet Kiss of Lover’s Past
We were happy once- the future was ours,
We loved each other with all of our hearts and soul- enmeshed into one being,
We made love passionately- like the Gods Venus and Mars,
We vowed it would be forever, never-ending;

You left me; you picked up your life and moved on,
You found someone new- a new happiness and life,
You, my lover past, no longer my emotional anon,
You are now another’s faithful wife;

I ask myself why all the drama, why all the strife?
I am alone and I abhor emptiness,
I need the warm touch, the sweet taste, and the lustful smell of a love’s life,
I find myself reminiscing of loves long past and its past happiness,
I wait anew- for a loving sweet kiss.
