THE WEIGHT GAME

I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHY IT IS OKAY FOR LADIES TO SAY ON THERE PROFILE THEY ARE AVERAGE AND YOU MEET THEM AND THEY ARE FULL FIGURE AND BEAUTIFUL. DON'T GET ME WRONG HERE I LOVE WOMEN OF ALL SIZES, I AN NOT A SKINNY MAN AND HAVE A FEW EXTRA POUNDS THAT I CAN LOSE. BUT I DON'T LIE ABOUT IT. I HAVE ALWAYS FOUGHT THE BATTLE WITH WEIGHT MOST OF MY LIFE. IT'S NO BIG THING. I AM ON A PERSONAL PLEDGE THIS WINTER TO LOSE 70LBS BETWEEN DEC AND JUNE2007. WAS JUST WONDERING.

ANYBODY GOT ANY REALLY GOOD DIETS FOR ME TO TRY.

PLEASE SAVE THE FAT JOKES FOR LATER, THEY DO NOT BOTHER ME AT ALL.

PEACE AND LOVE
C A R G OC

When you read a large number of profiles, you start to realize that the women lie about their weight and the men tend to lie about their penis size. Have you ever noticed how many "long/thick" guys just happen to find their way to Affairlook? The funny thing is, they include a "dick" photo on their profile and expose their "small" lie. Go gigure...

Cargo, I think your heart makes you one of the most attractive men I've ever seen & you don't need to lose an ounce to please others! You are kind, caring, considerate, & fair. If you were my man, I wouldn't even ask you to lose weight unless your health depended on it & then I would help you all I could. I think it's great that you want to do it for YOU! That should be the only reason one ever loses weight -- & not to please others.

Honestly, the only thing I've found that really works is exercise. Even a good, brisk walk every day will help melt the pounds away. Unfortunately, I don't live in an area where I feel safe enough to walk every evening after work or that's what I'd be doing. My exercise programs of choice are Winsor Pilates & -- don't laugh, it really works! -- Richard Simmons' "Sweatin' to the Oldies 1, 2, & 3." I got out of it for about a year, but started up again about a month ago. I exercise 5 days a week for only 20-30 minutes a day, alternating Pilates with Simmons. A healthful diet also helps. I never have eaten badly, don't eat junk food except for the occasional pizza slices, don't drink sodas; I eat a lot of fruits & veggies, drink gallons of water & low-fat milk. While tall (5'8&1/2"), I'm not a large woman, but wish to tone up & remain in my size 12's. If I get back to size 10, that'll be fine with me, but that's not my main goal. I exercise because it really does make me feel better physically; it works the kinks out after sitting at a desk 8 hours a day, it works any frustrations & tension right out, & I sleep better at night. I have blood pressure & heart issues, but my dr says I can do those exercises as long as I don't overdue or feel myself getting dizzy, etc..

As for diets, I've heard a lot of good things about the South Beach diet, but never went on any myself. I've also heard that Weight Watchers is a good program. I know a few people where I work who use that one & they seemed really happy with it, & the results. The Atkins diet got a lot of publicity, too, but that's already been proven not to be the best. It's a no-carb diet, & our bodies do need carbs. Whatever you decide to do, whether it be go on a diet, exercise, or both, just make sure you get the okay from a dr first.

By the way... I don't agree that it is okay for ladies to lie on here, any more than I think it's okay for men to. I think if people are going to lie in their profiles, even about things like age, body type, how much hair they have & what color, etc., they're going to lie about everything else. I've met people who have, & it gets quite frustrating after a while. How hard is it to just be yourself, especially when you write in your profile how honest you are?? Then again, maybe for some people being themselves IS being dishonest. I find it amazing how many men (& I'm sure women, too, but I've only met the men, lol!) lie about their ages, making themselves younger; about their body types, making themselves average or even athletic, when in fact, they should say they are ample or have a little extra padding; & the list goes on. What's the point in lying to get up to bat if you get struck out when you meet the person you're lying to? But, some people apparently think nothing of it & that it's perfectly okay. I'm not one of them.

Okay, maybe a bit more than you wanted to know, lol, but there you have it. I know how hard it is to lose weight & think it's great that you want to do it! I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor, Cargo. Keep me posted!! If you need encouragement, I'll be happy to provide it, too!

Exactly right, Bambi, lol! I've met some of 'em! Size doesn't matter to me, but damn, don't freakin' lie about it to meet me, lol! Too funny! I figure if people (men) don't like me the way I am, A) they don't have to look at my pic or respond to my profile, & they don't have to have sex with me. I exercise & eat right for me, & no one else. And, at least I know that anyone I may choose to meet would KNOW that my pic is real, recent, & ME .

So Cargo, my friend, I've been thinking about you a lot... How are you doing in your quest to keep that pledge to yourself? Anyone else recommended any plans you like? One thing I forgot to mention in my 1st reply -- I would wait until after the holidays to begin any new weight-loss regimen. It's too hard not to enjoy all the tasty treats during this time, & if you go off any diet you're on, it's easy to feel bad about it. Been there, done that, so I know from whence I speak. I'm not dieting so much now because I don't really eat badly, but the exercise is kinda killing me right now. I have a hard time getting motivated to just do it, & if I don't, I tend to feel guilty because I didn't! BUT -- I do feel better once I start, as well as afterward, so I just have to kick myself in the butt to get going after being up since before 5am & working hard all day long! Kind of a weird 'Catch 22.'

Take care, Cargo.

The internet allows people such anonymity that they often forget that what is said in the dark will come to light. Its always best to be honest especially if you really plan to ever meet someone. They will notice that you lied and for me all trust goes out of the window. People have got to learn to be comfortable with who they are. They lies often come about when they wish they were someone else and not themselves. Me? I love who I am. All 194 lbs of me. Everyone is not for everybody but there is someone for everyone. Though looks are always a big part for most people, a great personality is key for me. I'm a believer that you truly can't be any good to anyone else if you are first not go to yourself and that includes liking who you are at any given time.

Very sound advice, Have already gone to a smaller plate and that has helped. I cut out all sweets and soda and have lost 3lbs in last two weeks. I leave the car parked and now walk alot. and doing moderate excercise. a long way to go.

THANKS FOR THE TIPS
